Rev. Kristen Koger came to work at First Baptist Waynesboro in October 2021. She has previously served on staff at churches in Decatur, GA and Richmond, VA. A graduate from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Kristen has a passion for working with all ages in the church and walking with them on their faith journeys. In her role as Associate Pastor for Spiritual Growth, Kristen works to provide opportunities for the congregation to grow deeper in their faith through spiritual formation, worship, mission engagement, and fellowship opportunities. As the daughter of a pastor and a teacher, Kristen has spent her life in churches and getting to know people of all ages, and this is something she continues to enjoy doing today. She enjoys hearing people’s stories and finding ways to connect with them or to connect them with others who have similar interests.

When she isn’t working at the church, Kristen enjoys spending time with friends, playing trivia and board games, knitting and doing hand embroidery, or enjoying the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. She enjoys Marvel movies and is a big Harry Potter fan; she loves making puns and quoting lines from Friends, and is proud to be an enneagram 2w3. She has a dog named Dietrich “Bonehoeffer,” and tries to see her niece and nephew (and the grownups who love them) as often as possible.
